What is your industry focus?
We prefer investments in technology, software, or web services, but will review other projects in other industries as well.

What is your typical investment size?
Most projects are between $100k and $300k.  The smallest project we would do is about $25k.  We typically do not do an initial investment of more than $500k, and prefer to be sole investors due to equity requirements.

Do we have to move to Chicago?
It is not mandatory, but the founders that are willing to run their operations out of Chicago for the first few months will have a greater chance of being selected when we evaluate projects.

Can we send you a business plan we already created, instead of the submission process on your site?
Please do not send us generic business plans.  Please use the submit a plan link instead.  We created our submission form seeking specific qualities and traits needed to be successful.

Why did we not receive funding?
We only select between 4-8 projects a year and receive many submissions.  Often times there are great plans submitted, but our management team would not be able to create the synergy needed.

We are still students in college, should we apply now or wait until graduation?
Generally before we invest in a project, we need the founders to be able to work full-time.  If you have a plan and you will be graduating in the next academic year, it never hurts to submit early as we could line up funding after graduation.
